Tweetbot rivals Twitter for iPhone. I took Tapbot’s new Twitter application, Tweetbot, for a spin this week, and, as predicted by the hype, I was extremely impressed. With intuitive features, that easily highlight the restrictions of the official Twitter app, it’s a strong application for the tweeter on the go. And bar a couple of Continue reading →

Obama Wants You…Tube On Monday, it was reported that Barack Obama had kicked off his 2010 Presidential campaign via a YouTube video. Labeled with the statement: ‘the politics we believe in starts not with expensive TV ads or extravaganzas, but with you’, his campaign video, ‘It Begins With Us’, supports the idea of ‘people power’ Continue reading →

Having been down to the Regent Street Apple store earlier this morning, we thought we’d be missing out if we didn’t catch the 5pm launch! It was immediately apparent that the rest of London had the same idea as us; it was madness. There were people, taking photos of people, taking photos of people waiting Continue reading →

This morning, we headed down to the Regent Street Apple store and caught up with Jewels Lewis. He’s first in line to get the iPad 2, he’s been there since 7:30am Thursday morning – and he even missed his son’s 12th birthday for it! (Don’t worry though, he was given permission!)

On Tuesday 15th of March 2011, Jam had the pleasure of taking a select number of invited bloggers along for an exclusive preview of the Sky News iPad app, courtesy of – you guessed it – Sky. The event was a huge success, offering some of the UK’s top technology and news bloggers (including Lucy Continue reading →

With the launch of Domo to the app market for the iPhone and Android, the age old question has once again reared its head… how much is too much? For those of you who haven’t yet had a chance to play with the app for yourself, it connects you to those with similar interests in Continue reading →

It’s been a while since I’ve seen an inspiring mobile marketing campaign from a music label, but XL Records has really grabbed my attention! Deviating from the norm (a run of the mill template app which has 30 seconds of video content, a biog and a competition to win tickets) they’ve opted for a more Continue reading →

I recently stumbled across ‘Like Ourselves’, an app that proclaims to help users ‘hang out with [their] type of people’. The basic premise is that you sign up to a number of groups that you see yourself belonging to. These groups are based on anything from your relationship status, your hobbies or whether you’re new Continue reading →

Gowalla has become the unlikely winner of a major location-based promotion with Disney. The deal allows visitors to the three US-based theme parks to check-in to rides while waiting in the queues. For this they’ll receive exclusive badges for the world renowned attractions. Disney already sells pins for its most well-known rides, allowing people to Continue reading →

We’ve got search engines, decision engines and now a recommendation engine – Google Hotpot. The location-based tool is “powered by you and your friends” to review real-world places in exchange for recommendations of businesses you might want to try. Facebook recently launched its Places offering which allows people to check-in on their mobile phones. This Continue reading →
