Jam in the Press: RBS-branded rugby app converts 50,000 downloads
Brand Republic has reported that The RBS 6 Nations Live Challenge has been downloaded more than 50,000 times in the first two weeks of the championship – and is seeing an average of 9,000 active players per match.
“We’re delighted with the number of downloads across all platforms. However, more importantly, it’s this high level of interaction that we’re seeing during each game that is our true benchmark for success. With dual screening becoming ever more common the RBS 6 Nations Live Challenge app provides rugby fans with the perfect opportunity to engage with RBS on mobile & tablet devices,” says Dan Beasley, Head of Mobile at Jam.
The app is more popular on iPhone and iPad, with more than 50,000 downloads from the Apple App Store, where it was featured as a “New & Noteworthy” download. More than 10,000 Android users have downloaded the game.
The RBS 6 Nations Live Challenge is rugby’s first-ever interactive companion app, using dual screen interaction to revolutionise and enhance the live match experience for fans watching at home. Throughout the match, the app challenges fans to predict the result of penalties, conversions, 5-metre scrums and line outs, take part in opinion polls, and answer RBS 6 Nations rugby quiz questions.
The RBS 6 Nations Live Challenge was conceived by Synergy, Engine’s sponsorship agency, and delivered by Jam, Engine’s social media and mobile agency.
The free app is available on iPad, iPhone, Android, as well as Facebook and can be downloaded from www.rbs6nationslivechallenge.com.
