Sky are the first brand in the UK to utilise Twitter’s Promoted Products, which includes Promoted Accounts, Promoted Tweets and the newly launched Promoted Trends. Twitter brought the advertiser launch for these products forward to allow Sky to promote the new series of FOX’s Glee, airing on Sky1 last night.

The Promoted Products have been extremely successful, and the @GLEEonSKY Twitter account saw a huge rise in followers and engagement with the promoted hashtag #gleeonsky adopted by fans and media alike. This has been supported by ongoing community management of the feed by Jam working closely with the Sky1 Press team.

Such is the dedication of Glee’s UK fanbase, #wewantglee also started an organic trend. Glee fans using this hashtag are entered into a 12 hour giveaway, with themed prizes every hour running prior to the show airing at 9pm.
We’re really proud to have worked with Sky and Mediacom to be part of this huge new offering from Twitter. No doubt lots of brands will be using these products over the coming weeks, but for now we’re going to bask in the warm glow of being involved in a UK first.
