Hollywood and Twitter – a match made in heaven!
Interviews with Tiger-blooded winners and an evening backstage at the Oscars are some of the themes Twitter feeds have been experiencing in the last week to the delight of twitter users world-wide. As Charlie Sheen’s latest antics get him a Guinness world record, James Franco breaks new ground at the Oscars, both using Twitter as their platform of choice to ‘wow’ the world.
James Franco: #oscarsrealtime
The Oscars went social this year as James Franco became the first host of the Oscars to live-tweet the whole show despite having only opened a twitter account earlier the same month.
Franco covered the entire show, including live videos of him and other celebs prepping behind the scenes and then walking out to an adoring audience peppered with top celebrities. Allowing normal folk like you and me a chance to realise that, yes they are all human and yes, The Oscars is a show of epic proportion both online and offline.
Charlie Sheen #tigerblood #winning
With his account verified at the speed of light, Charlie Sheen has once again made the news, this time it’s for his healthy use of Social Media. Garnering the largest number of followers in the shortest space of time, ever in the history of Twitterdom Sheen amassed a staggering 1million in a record time of 25 hours, 17 minutes giving him the Guinness World record for ‘Fastest time to reach 1 million followers’.
Making the hash tags #tigerblood and #winning his own, it seems he has made a success of his somewhat bizarre personality, that twitter users obviously love and want more of.
Perhaps it’s the innate human interest in supporting the underdog or our love of all things taboo, but @charliesheen is set to surpass @justinbieber with the most followers by the end of the month.
