Bloggers at the Sky News iPad app preview

On Tuesday 15th of March 2011, Jam had the pleasure of taking a select number of invited bloggers along for an exclusive preview of the Sky News iPad app, courtesy of – you guessed it – Sky.

The event was a huge success, offering some of the UK’s top technology and news bloggers (including Lucy Hewitt from TechFluff.tv, Martin Bryant from TheNextWeb.com and Joe Pike from TotalPolitics.com) an opportunity to play with the app first hand – before its official launch on Thursday 17th of March – and to be given a full demonstration from the Sky team who had been working on the app’s development for the last year.

Having had the opportunity to fully review the application and ask the Sky management team questions, each blogger was then able to get behind the Sky News desk for an exclusive interview with Adam Boulton – the interviews, immortalised on film, were then given to each blogger at the end of the event.

Each Blogger then left the day with professional photographs of them on the Sky News set, along with a full release and embeddable video for their blog. They were then each invited to the official launch on the following Thursday, along with members of the press.

It was great for the Jam team to see so many friendly faces turn up for Thursday’s launch and the coverage, pre and post-launch, proved that Sky were formidable hosts.

The preview event established great relationships between Sky and the Bloggers, and we’re excited to work with both for future events. You can check out some of the photos and coverage below.
